Early Indians

Native American groups inhabiting this region utilized high-grade stone resources in the manufacture of stone tools necessary for survival. Stylistic changes in these stone tools over a 14,000 year period reflect changes in survival strategies which were necessary in response to a chaning environment and its resources. It is thus possible to form a chronology fo cultural occupations for this region based upon style, workmanship, and material used in the manufacture of stone tools.
